Mashed potatoes

“The store’s ad read, ‘Purchase your Thanksgiving Dinner, ready to go. Just heat. Give the store the time you are picking up the dinner.’

“Our dinner was set for 1 p.m., so we said we’d pick it up at 12 noon. So we’re unloading the box… and the turkey was raw. I had people coming to eat in 30 minutes!

“We ended up having a turkey ham that I had on hand, and I whipped up some mashed potatoes. All I could do was laugh, but my guests understood.”
