Kiwi Smoothie


Kiwifruit, being vine berries, have tiny black seeds that are perfectly edible. If you don't like the speckled effect they give this drink, however, strain the seeds from the purée before adding the remaining ingredients.

This smoothie is delicious but not especially sweet, so add sugar or honey to taste.


4 ripe kiwis (peeled and cut into chunks)
1 1/3 cups apple or pineapple juice
1 cup nonfat frozen yogurt
  honey or sugar (to taste)
1/2 cup fresh lime juice


Purée the kiwis in a blender with the lime and pineapple juice. When smooth, add the frozen yogurt and blend till thoroughly combined. Taste and add honey or sugar, as desired.
