Mango Margaritas

You can buy bottled mango margarita mix, but it doesn't really taste anything like fresh mangos. Don't settle! It's so easy to make your own concoction that when mangos are in season, it's worth the time to make this popular cocktail from scratch. The base can even be made several hours ahead.

4 Servings


1 cup

fresh mango purée (from 2 Earthbound Farm Organic Mangos)

½ cup

good-quality tequila

½ cup

frozen limeade concentrate (thawed)

¼ cup

Triple Sec or Grand Marnier

cracked or crushed ice

Coarse salt or sugar for rimming the glasses (optional)


Combine the mango purée, tequila, limeade and Triple Sec in a blender and process until smooth. The base can be covered and refrigerated for up to 8 hours before serving.

Before serving, rim 4 glasses with salt or sugar, if you like.

To serve, pour the chilled mango base into a clean blender and add 3 cups of ice. Process until the mixture is slushy. Pour the margaritas into the prepared glasses and serve immediately.
